About CoLateral AI
CoLateral AI is the public name of CoLateral, an agentic engineering workspace. Engineers buy a desktop licence once, keep project files on their own machine, and run AI agents against those files instead of pasting work into a chat window.
What CoLateral is
CoLateral is a Tauri desktop application with an infinite project canvas. Cards on that canvas hold agents, terminals, sheets, notes, schedules, and the calculators a licence ships with. The workspace is discipline-neutral: it does not pretend to be a sealed structural analysis package, and it does not take responsible charge of anyone's design.
The product exists because engineering work already lives in folders, PDFs, and spreadsheets. An agent that can read those files, run commands, and leave a reviewable draft is more useful than a chat that only knows what you typed. CoLateral keeps that loop on the machine in front of you.
Who it is for
CoLateral is for engineers and small engineering firms that want agent help without giving up file ownership or review. It is a fit when you already pay for Claude Code or Codex, when you need a place to assemble tools beside the files they act on, and when every output must stay a draft until a qualified engineer signs off.
It is the wrong tool when you need a regulated analysis package, a cloud collaboration suite, or a firm that will stamp drawings for you. CoLateral sells software, not engineering services.

Every calculator and agent output in CoLateral is a design aid. Users remain responsible for assumptions, code compliance, and final deliverables under the rules of their professional engineering association. That boundary is deliberate: the workspace is useful because it stays honest about where software stops and judgement begins.
